Rapid advances in neuroscience, human-machine interfaces, and artificial intelligence are quickly expanding our understanding of human nature. However, while exciting and promising, these discoveries raise philosophical, ethical, anthropological, and social concerns.

The International Bioethics Conference 2024 aimed to stimulate a dialogue between a large number of experts from diverse disciplinary fields, including neuroscience, neuro-engineering, bioethics, computer science, philosophy, anthropology, sociology, and theology. Through this dialogue, the many speakers who have joined the initiative had the opportunity to discuss a critically important topic: the possible evolutions of the concept of "human being" in light of the epochal changes we are witnessing.
